Private Sector
The main objective of a private sector is to make a profit and most of the Travel and Tourism businesses belong to the private sector. Tourism is in the private sector because it is a major contributor to the economy this is due to many developing countries relying on tourism to bring foreign currencies and income into their countries. Some examples are Thomas Cook, Alton Towers, Holiday Inn, National Express, Virgin Trains, British Airways and The London Eye. The private sector its not directly controlled by the government it is a term that brings households and businesses in the economy to form a single group.
Public Sector
The public sector is funded by the national and local government, there aim is to educate, inform and provide a service to its customers. Examples of the Public sector is Museums, Galleries, Leisure Centres, Parks, Visitor Information Centres and Regional Development Organisations. The public sector is part of society that is ran by civil servants and government officials.
Voluntary Sector
The purpose of a voluntary sector is to preserve, protect and promote their cause, Voluntary Sector organisations are often charities or trusts. They are funded mainly through their members from the sector, entrance fee's to attractions, fundraising, sponsorship and donations. They are usually staffed by a mixture or paid managers, workers and volunteers. For instance The National Trust, Tourism concern, The YHA (Youth hostel association) and The Sealed Knot. The voluntary sector is undertaken by organisations that are not for profit and np
